Dr Stephen Man is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Infection, Immunity and Biochemistry, School of Medicine, Cardiff University. Steve obtained a BSc in Biological Sciences at the University of East Anglia, followed by a PhD in Immunology at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School (now Imperial College) in London. For his post-doctoral training he went to the University of Virginia, USA, before returning to the UK to work with Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz at the University of Wales College of Medicine. Subsequently he was awarded a Royal Society University Fellowship that allowed him to establish his own research group. He became a Senior Lectureship in the School of Medicine in 2002. His research focuses on cells of the immune system and their potential role in the therapy of cancer. He is currently funded by CRW for projects which examine the impact of the immune on prostate cancer and leukaemia.
