Cancer Research Wales Set to Host Wedding Extravaganza

March 8, 2012

A Welsh cancer charity is hosting a unique wedding fayre at the Mansion House, the official residence of The Lord Mayor of Cardiff, on Saturday 24th March.

Cancer Research Wales is offering Welsh brides-to-be the chance to pick up some dazzling inspiration for their special day at the event; which will include a fashion showcase of the stunning range of new and donated dresses from the charity’s popular Bridal Suite in Whitchurch.

Entry to the event is free, with a goody bag on arrival, and guests can look forward to a day of pampering and refreshments – including coffee and cake - while they sit back and enjoy the historic and magnificent surroundings of the Mansion House, which is available as a wedding venue itself.

As well as wedding exhibitors, brides-to-be will have the opportunity to watch a series of demos on the latest trends in wedding day hair and makeup.

Opened in April 2011, the Cancer Research Wales Bridal Suite has over 700 dresses in stock, from quality pre-worn dresses to brand new dresses generously donated from top designers. All the money raised from sales of the dresses stays in Wales to help fund groundbreaking research into new cancer treatments.

Cancer Research Wales also offer a range of unique wedding favours for couples who want to donate to the charity as part of their celebrations.

Liz Andrews, Charity Director at Cancer Research Wales, said “This is a unique opportunity for brides-to-be to see the beautiful Mansion House, as well as getting some inspiration for their big day. Lots of couples are keen to see how their special day can also help in the fight against cancer in Wales, and this is set to be a great showcase.”

• The Cancer Research Wales wedding fayre takes place from 10am – 3pm on Saturday 24th March, at The Lord Mayor’s Official Residence, the Mansion House, Richmond Road, Cardiff. Entry is free.
