Looking for a Challenge in 2012?

January 3, 2012

To all of our supporters, I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year!!

You may have already broken those New Year’s resolutions, but if you’re up for a challenge and want to mark 2012 as the year that you make a difference, then we might just have an event for you.

During January (with the help from our friends at Real Radio) we’ll be spreading the word about our ‘Skydive for Free’ campaign, where after raising a minimum sponsorship you can jump 10,000 feet and take part in a Tandem Skydive in one of many locations throughout the UK, at a date that suits you for Cancer Research Wales.

If jumping out of an aeroplane isn’t for you, but you still want to test yourself, then how about the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge - Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen-y-Fan are waiting for you!! In May 2012, you could be enjoying the sunrise at Wales tallest Peak, before taking on the next two mountains in North and South Wales. Organised by British Military Fitness, all your safety needs, food and transport will be provided. We already have people signed up, with a few CRW staff planning to pull on their walking boots and take on Wales’ highest peaks!

Ok, so we’ve considered Skydiving and Mountain Trekking, have we found the challenge for you yet? No. I can’t believe that!! Then how about a run in the Park? Well, not any normal run – we have the St David’s Run taking place in Bute Park, Cardiff. Where you can choose from the 10k or 5k race in aid of Cancer Research Wales. The event takes place on Sunday 4th March, registration is now open.

So whether its running, walking (uphill of course) or falling, we greatly appreciate your support, your sponsorship money will make a great difference to the work of our charity – so when you are taking on a challenge in 2012, think how you can benefit so many other people and please consider supporting Cancer Research Wales.

Have a great 2012!!
