The Cancer Research Wales Pink-a-Blue Walk - Swansea Bay 2011
On Sunday 21st Aug we definitely turned Swansea Bay pink and blue when we held our 4 mile Pink-a-Blue Walk, to raise funds for prostate and breast cancer research in Wales.
It was lovely to see old friends, who have supported the event for many years and a few new faces who wanted to come out and support a charity, which is so close to their hearts.
One supporter Rhian, had arrived off holiday and raced to be with us for this special event. Another family told us of their personal fight against cancer, and how each pink-a-blue walk over the years had marked a triumph or celebration in their battle against the disease.
So as our Pink-a-Blue Walkers dressed in Fairy wings, bunny ears and cowboy hats crossed the start line in the Mumbles and took the 4 mile route towards Swansea, each was making a difference in there own very colourful way.
Thank you everyone who took part, and made the day so special for Cancer Research Wales.
We would also like to thank Verdi’s Café for welcoming the Pink-a-Blue Walk for yet another year and helping to raise funds at their tills.
The Cardiff Bay Pink-a-Blue Walk will be held on Sunday 4th September 2011, starting at 11am outside the Norwegian Church. If you would like to make a difference too, please join us and click here.
